Here below we provide a compilation of many of the cultural and educational Summer Camp and programs opportunities for children of all ages.  The listing here focuses mainly on Greater New Haven, providing short descriptions and links out for more information.

Introductory Children’s Classes from the ISF:  Saturday mornings at 10am, beginning June 23.  Contact us for details or to sign up.


Yale Peabody Museum Summer Camps The Yale University Peabody Museum of Natural History offers a variety of summer camp programs for school-aged children to explore exhibits at the Museum and learn about natural history, geography, culture, anthropology, and  many other topics.  The camps are 1-2 weeks long each, running from July 9 – August 24.  For instance, the “Bones &  Stones Peabody Anthropology Camp” runs from July 16-20, and “Around the World” for entering 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders runs from August 20-24.

 

 

Neighborhood Music School The Neighborhood Music School located in New Haven’s  Audubon Arts section offers a variety of music and dance classes throughout the summer for children of all ages.  The classes run from late June until early August, and include the popular Audubon Arts program for children and teens, from June 25 – August 3.

Eli Whitney Museum and Workshop Each summer, the Museum devotes itself to a series of week long workshops for young experimenters. Nearly 60 workshops to choose from, for a summer of inquisitive fun for children aged 5-14, with programs running from June 11 – August 24.


Co-op Arts Summer Camp This new month-long summer program is open to all New Haven middle school students, at New Haven’s state of the art Cooperative Arts & Humanities High School. This new, innovative program gives students a taste of what art courses at Co-Op are like through a range of different classes from July 9 -August 3, Monday – Friday (both morning and afternoon sessions).

Yale Summer School  Yale University offers Summer School classes for undergraduates at Yale and schools around the country.  Sessions run from June 4 – July 6 and July 9 – August 10.


Explo  Explo is a 3-week summer program for students entering grades 10-12 on the campus of Yale University.  Explo at Yale holds two summer sessions in New Haven, from July 1 – July 21 and July 22 – August 11.

 

ConneCT Kids Summer Planning  The Official State of CT website for children has a listing of a variety of summer programs around the state, maintained by the Connect Kids Committee.

 

International Festival of Arts and Ideas Now in its 12th year, the International Festival of Arts & Ideas hosts hundreds of events over a 15-day period each June, with 80% of events free of charge.  This year the Festival runs from June 16 – June 30, and includes arts and cultural programs, music and theater enjoyable for families and kids of all ages.  International highlights of this year’s Festival include a performance by the Manado State University Choir from North Sulawesi, Indonesia.
