It’s people number 300 different ethnic groups native to the islands, speaking more than 700 different languages and dialects. With the wide variety of cultures and traditions in this multi-ethnic diverse nation, it is no wonder that Indonesia’s motto is “Bhinneka Tunggal Ika,” meaning “Unity in Diversity” or “Many, yet one.”
