November 2006

The Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale University invited Bapak Waleed and the ISF to headline their World Dance Festival weekend on Nov 4-5, 2006. Several dance groups from around campus were called upon to present, perform, and workshop traditional dances from around the world.  The traditions represented Chinese, Indian, Indonesia, Mexican and African dances.  Day One featured performances in the Peabody’s Great Hall of Dinosaurs, and Day Two featured interactive workshops for children and adults of all ages.  Participants came from around campus and from throughout the community to enjoy the Peabody Museum’s exhibits as well as the special events surrounding the World Dance Festival.  Special Thanks were given to David Heiser, Director of Education & Outreach at the Peabody Museum.
